  1. I’m actually thinking of buying the Zojirushi Mr. Bento. I like the fact that it allows me to pack a portion of my lunch as liquid (I’m thinking yogurt or chili or potato soup, etc), but still portions my lunch out so I can think about Carb + Protein + Fruit/Veggie. I’m thinking it’s going to be a bit large for me, so I’m planning to use 3 of the containers for lunch and 1 for breakfast…

    • That’s a good idea! If you’ve been following this blog for a while now, you’ll have probably seen that I do something similar. A lunch and a dinner, one in each tier of my Monbento, fills me right up. That noted, next week we will be covering accessories, so don’t hit the buy button quite yet! :P
I can how see having the visual aspect of four containers would be helpful to portioning things out. I will say, however, it is best to overpack when starting out than underpack when starting. My first ever bento meal was a touch too small and I didn’t have extra food with me. So when getting started it might be smart to use the breakfast spot as a snack spot for a few days as a just-in-case feeler and pack a separate breakfast.
I’m mostly suggesting this because on the official site it doesn’t state the ml. You should be fine regardless, these just some of my thoughts on the matter. :)
That said, regardless of whatever you buy, it’s great to see people thinking it through before they buy! I totally didn’t but got lucky, but I don’t want others to risk it and be disappointed!
