30 Days of Vegan Bento Day 25; The House of a Thousand Candles

Today’s bento was inspired by the Bento Blog Network’s challenge! Book themed bentos!

The House of a Thousand Candles is my favorite book of all time. I used to have a printed hardbound edition of it, and it was the first ever physical book I owned that was over a hundred years old. The cover was nearly falling off, and I read through it in it’s paper form once. After that I dared not to read that book again, for fear of damaging it. I’ve enjoyed rereading it several times now, from the digital version.

PicsArt_1422224111794Alas, I did not have any blue sugar sheets, as I’m still working my way through my silver one. I tried drawing the art directly on the whole wheat peanut butter sandwich that was underneath, but it looked dreadful, so I’m pretending that this is a reprint. The marker was a set of Wilton Food Color Markers.

In the other part of my bento are asparagus spears, pineapple stars, broccoli, and baby carrot slices. It’s not a fancy meal, but I thought the book idea was so cute!
