Today’s lunch bento is themed around a fountain pen! Sadly, however, it did not turn out the way I wanted it to, but you can see the similarities between the fountain pen in the lower half of the photograph and the asparagus/carrot monstrosity in the bento above it.
This is my first dinner bento for the new semester! I start my next class today at university, and hopefully it won’t attempt to kill me like that last one. The two bento tiers contain nearly all the same fixings: mashed potatoes, broccoli topped with Daiya Shredded Cheddar, baby carrots, Gardein Chick’n strips, and pineapple stars. Inside of the little cups are gravy and Sriracha for the mashed potatoes and chick’n! The upper bento also is rocking an asparagus spear, for the “pen”.
Something that confuses me about Gardein’s website. I’ve bought it in Walmart and Giant, just a big plain bag of Gardein Chick’n Strips, but the closest that Gardein lists on its website is the Teriyaki Chick’n Strips. The chick’n strips are exactly the same, the teriyaki one just comes with a sauce, but still. I find it strange that they’ve omitted it from their website.
